  • Send an enquiry to a vendor — your name, email address, wedding date and message content.
  • Submit a review — your name, wedding details and review content.
  • Subscribe to our newsletter — your email address and name.
  • Contact us directly — your name, email address and the content of your message.
  • Make a payment — billing information processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full payment card details.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit The Wedding Stack we automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use our platform including:

  • Log data — your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of visits, time spent on pages and referring URLs.
  • Device information — the type of device you use, operating system and screen resolution.

  • Location data — your approximate location based on your IP address, used to show relevant local vendors. We do not collect precise GPS location without your explicit permission.

  • Social media platforms — if you connect your Instagram or other social media account to your vendor profile we receive the information you authorise through that connection.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

3.1 To Provide and Improve Our Services

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To display your vendor listing to couples searching the platform.
  • To facilitate enquiries between couples and vendors.
  • To process payments for Premium listings.
  • To personalise your experience and show you relevant content and vendors.
  • To improve the functionality, performance and content of our platform.
  • To develop new features and services.

3.2 To Communicate With You

  • To send you account-related emails such as registration confirmation, password resets and billing notifications.
  • To send enquiry notifications to vendors when a couple contacts them through the platform.
  • To send you our newsletter and marketing communications where you have opted in to receive them.
  • To respond to your questions, comments and support requests.
  • To notify you of changes to our platform, terms or policies.

3.3 For Safety and Legal Purposes

  • To detect, prevent and address fraud, spam and other harmful or illegal activity.

  • Vendor listing information — business name, location, description, photos, pricing and contact details that vendors add to their profiles are displayed publicly on the platform to couples and other visitors.
  • Enquiries — when a couple sends an enquiry through the platform their name, email address, wedding date and message are shared with the vendor they are contacting.
  • Reviews — reviews submitted by couples are displayed publicly on vendor profiles including the reviewer’s first name and wedding details they choose to share.

4.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third party service providers who help us operate our platform including:

  • Stripe — for payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
  • Google Analytics — for website analytics and usage insights.
  • Google Maps — for location and mapping features.
  • Email service providers — for sending transactional and marketing emails.
  • Web hosting providers — for hosting our website and storing data.

All service providers are contractually required to keep your information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.

4.3 For Legal Reasons

  • Payment records — retained for up to 7 years as required for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Analytics data — retained in anonymised or aggregated form for up to 26 months.

When we no longer need your personal information we will securely delete or anonymise it.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

6.1 Access

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We will respond to access requests within 30 days.

6.2 Correction

You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information we hold about you. You can update most of your information directly through your account dashboard.

The Wedding Stack may create listings for wedding businesses using publicly available information. This section explains how we handle the personal information of business owners and representatives in these circumstances.

The information used to create automatic listings — such as business name, address, phone number and website — is sourced from publicly available directories and platforms. This information is considered business contact information rather than sensitive personal data.

If you are a business owner and your business has been automatically listed on The Wedding Stack you have the following options:

  • Claim your listing — verify your identity and take control of your profile to update information and add content.
  • Request removal — contact us at info@theweddingstack.ca to have your listing removed from the platform. We will process removal requests within 5 business days.
  • Request correction — if any automatically listed information is inaccurate contact us and we will correct it promptly.

13. Marketing Communications

Where you have opted in to receive marketing communications from The Wedding Stack we may send you emails about new features, tips for getting more from your listing, platform news and other information we think may be of interest to you.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by:
